Google’s Linux-based phone will launch in 2008

Looks like Google is working with Taiwan’s High Tech Computer (HTC) Corp to steal iPhone’s crown from Apple. Google is choosing HTC because its track record with a large number of Microsoft Windows powered devices over the years, and their great speced hardware. The Wall Street Journals reported that Google has spent hundreds of millions of dollars in this project and has courted US and European mobile operators to launch in Q1 2008. It’s really about time for open-source technology to own the market, talking about end-user freedom from a company that “does no evil”.
